The
purpose of the Housing Counselor is to provide
counseling services to residents of the
City of Gaithersburg.
The
Housing Counselor Provides:
- Relocation
assistance
- Renter
assistance and assistance in applying
for county rental subsidy programs
- Eviction
prevention
- Money/debt
management
- Fair
housing assistance
- Coordination
of housing resources with area foreclosure
counseling agencies
- Other
community resources with area foreclosure
counseling agencies
Eligibility
Requirements:
To utilize the services of the
housing counselor you must be a resident
of the City of Gaithersburg (determined
by street listing), provide income documentation,
or have a referral (referring agencies include:
City of Gaithersburg, Division of Community
Services, MCDHHS--Emergency services; member
agencies of the Gaithersburg Coalition of
Providers, MCPS, and other area faith-based
groups).
